As many of you will already know, ECY will be at Yarnporium this weekend, even though David and I are not. So I thought I'd best tell you a bit more. We've already talked about the Inspiration Knits stand, which is where my yarn is - there's lots of lovely baby alpaca (Whitfell DK and Chunky), as well as Oakworth DK and Titus 4ply. There's also the Cowtown Knits stand, where you'll find the beautiful sample of Jodi's Sweater, along with the patterns (in a handy A5 format), and lots of other gorgeous patterns. This sweater uses Oakworth DK for the back, and then OAkworth 4ply in two colours for the cosy brioche crossover front. Here's what Kate has to say about it: "Jodi's Sweater is a layering piece that's stylish enough to make a statement, yet cozy enough to be your go-to pullover for lounging around the house. The knitting is straight-forward, but the construction gives it the added twist - literally! It's the construction and the details that make this piece work. The front is knit first, sideways, starting with a provisional CO. Then the back is worked from the bottom up, and then seamed with the front. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes, and the rest is easy peasy. Although there are lots of techniques involved, some of which might be new to you, the instructions are clearly written to help you through. The pattern also includes photo tutorials for some of the special techniques." There's one more stand that I need to tell you about - La Purple Penguin will be part of the Indie Maker Spotlight, and has two ECY shawls with her. There's Starry Night: And Waves on Slate: Both of these shawls use 4ply (top is Milburn 4ply in Night Sky and bottom is BFL Sock in Slate), so there'll be plenty of choice of yarn to go with the patterns. If you are going to Yarnporium, have fun and we hope to see lots of pics on social media later!
