So.. I'm sure you'll have heard about Joji Locatelli's latest MKAL - the Starting Point wrap. It requires five colours of yarn, which is great for stashbusting unless like me your extensive stash is surprisingly uncohesive and you're therefore struggling to actually put five things together.

Anyway, I'm normally very very behind with things like this (I'm talking years behind), so here's a surprise - we have put together some yarn packs for you for this MKAL and it's before the start date! Granted only just, but it still counts.

I'll start by saying these are in the kits section of the webshop, HERE.

This first set of sets is (shades L-R):

Pack 1 - Milburn 4ply in Natural, Milburn 4ply in Steel, Titus 4ply in Cromer Pier, Askham 4ply in Walnut, Milburn 4ply in Damson
Pack 2 - Milburn 4ply in Natural, Milburn 4ply in Rain, Titus 4ply in Cromer Pier, Askham 4ply in Damselfly, Milburn 4ply in Night Sky
Pack 3 - Askham 4ply in Walnut, Milburn 4ply in Autumn Fields, Titus 4ply in Coppice, Titus 4ply in Fresh Leaves, Milburn 4ply in Natural
Pack 4 (Wicker) - Milburn 4ply in Wicker, Milburn 4ply in Autumn Fields, Titus 4ply in Twig, Askham 4ply in Walnut, Askham 4ply in Crocosmia

I noticed in a couple of Facebook groups I'm in (well, our own - The ECY Garden and Louise Tilbrook's Everyday Knitter) that a lot of people weren't really up for spending over £100 on hand dyed yarn for a mystery pattern.. so I suggested that we put ours together using a mix of hand dyed and mill dyed so that we could have packs that come in at less than that (they're £70 each inc VAT), but would still be the ECY luxury you're used to.

The next set of sets (colours L-R) is:

Pack 5 (Yarrow) - Milburn 4ply in Natural, Askham 4ply in Blossom, Titus 4ply in Flowering Currant, Milburn 4ply in Damson, Askham 4ply in Yarrow
Pack 5 (Thyme) - Milburn 4ply in Natural, Milburn 4ply in Thyme, Askham 4ply in Blossom, Titus 4ply in Flowering Currant, Milburn 4ply in Damson
Pack 4 (Harvest Gold) - Milburn 4ply in Autumn Fields, Milburn 4ply in Harvest Gold, Titus 4ply in Twig, Askham 4ply in Walnut, Askham 4ply in Crocosmia

All of the sets are limited availability - not just because of the hand dyed skeins but also Milburn 4ply in particular is proving so popular that we've been struggling to keep it in stock lately. We're obviously doing our best to address it, with having more spun and more frequently but because we're an organically-grown company without a huge investment pot, we do have to be careful to not just go nuts and over-spend! It does also take quite a bit of time for our efforts to trickle through to the finished product too, as there are so many processes that the yarn goes through and if only one of those gets held up, it messes up the whole timeline. At the moment we're waiting for labels to be printed for a couple of colours - they're going straight from the printer to the balling/labelling guy (both in the UK) but it all takes time, so the yarn is currently sat waiting to be labelled and of course we're now waiting for it with our stocks rapidly dwindling! Anyway, bit of an insight into running a yarn business there.. What I actually was getting around to saying is that because stocks are limited, it means these packs are limited in number for now, and we can't swap yarns in and out of them.

Moving on.. this next set of sets (colours L-R) is:

Pack 6 - Milburn 4ply in Natural, Oakworth 4ply in Silver Birch, Oakworth 4ply in Geum, Askham 4ply in Walnut, Milburn 4ply in Steel
Pack 7 - Milburn 4ply in Natural, Milburn 4ply in Wicker, Milburn 4ply in Autumn Fields, Milburn 4ply in Steel, Milburn 4ply in Rain
Pack 8 - Milburn 4ply in Natural, Milburn 4ply in Wicker, Milburn 4ply in Althaea, Milburn 4ply in Damson, Milburn 4ply in Steel

So that's all for now. I realise that many people will want to make this wrap after the pattern is released, so we are planning to continue putting packs together, and maybe when we get more Milburn 4ply through (we're waiting for Black Tulip more than anything just now and that goes well with so many other shades!) we'll put together some new ones.

For more information about Joji's MKAL your best bet is to go to her Ravelry group. I know the hashtags on social media are #startingpointmkal and #jojimysterywrap so if you're posting on Instagramm, Facebook or Twitter do use those. If you're using our yarn please use #edencottageyarns across social media too, and then your pics will automatically be added to the gallery for that hashtag - it's worth looking at for inspiration. :)
