Morning! Today is an exciting day, as not only are we set up at Edinburgh Yarn Festival now, but in conjunction with this we have worked again with our friend Justyna Lorkowska to bring you another celebratory shawl: Holyrood.
This is a gorgeous wide, shallow(ish) crescent shaped shawl with really clever colourwork and lace. It works well in two colours, though we've seen some beautiful ones made in more than two colours so it's good for mixing yarns.
The first version here is worked in Harewood 4ply in Twig (the dark gold) and Driftwood.
Harewood 4ply is our high twist superwash Bluefaced Leicester sock yarn.
The second version is worked in Bedale 4ply in Alpine and Steel.
Bedale 4ply is our lovely baby yak/silk blend, which is as luxurious as it sounds.
Of course I've dyed lots of these yarns for our stand here in Edinburgh, but don't worry, I will get more up on the website once we are back from the show, and up and running again. I'll have kits organised by then, I promise! I ran out of time before the show to put together kits, but we have the yarn and pattern.
The yarn is limited in quantity as you might expect, so please be aware that it could be sold out if you can't see any. There are plenty of other gorgeous colour combinations though. Justyna will be on our stand at 12 noon on Saturday at Edinburgh Yarn Festival, so if you'd like to meet a favourite knitwear designer please do come along and say hello! Tomorrow on the blog we'll have an interview with Justyna, in which she is insightful and interesting - don't miss it!
