Project report: boxy sweater using five different yarns

I thought I'd show off my latest colour-block boxy jumper and give you some info about how it's made, and the yarns used.  Before my recent foot surgery (in August 2021) we were in self-isolation for a few days (of course!) so I spent the time furiously preparing projects for when I got home. I knew I'd want simple things that I could just pick up, and I thought if I left a few things just ready to finish and sew up then it would create some easy wins for myself that would make me feel accomplished. Project ideas for DK Yarnlings™

As well as our 4ply Yarnlings we have DK ones too. These are 10g balls of yarn as we thought that doing 5g of DK seemed too small to be worth it. Pattern ideas for three-colour combinations

In about 2011 there was a shawl pattern released which used three colours of 4ply/fingering weight yarn and *wasn't* a triangular one. It seemed all new at the time as the trend had been for one-skein triangular shawls. That pattern was Veera Valimaki's Colour Affection and since then three-colour shawl patterns in all different shapes have remained popular. I realise she won't have been the first to release a three-colour pattern by the way, it just seemed like that was the first super-popular one.  Whenever we do our yarn updates I always try to make time to photograph colour combinations...
