Ebb and Flow - a new collection by Anni Howard
Hello! Today I wanted to tell you about something we've mentioned in our newsletter but haven't talked about on here - Anni Howard's latest new collection, Ebb and Flow, a range of knit and crochet designs inspired by the bleak beauty of the Essex coastline and river estuaries. Eden Cottage Yarns are used in three of the four designs. Here's the whole collection together - you can really see the soft, bleak palette and rich textures, and I think they work beautifully with my yarns - I love bleak landscapes and barely-there colours, and find them incredibly compelling. Strood Strood is...

Pattern: Buccaneer
Today I'm wearing my Buccaneer, so I thought I'd tell you about it. It's also pertinent because it's by Justyna Lorkowska, who has also just released Piccadilly in conjunction with Loop London, and that uses ECY Hayton 4ply, so there's a link! Buccaneer is worked end-to-end, mostly in garter stitch, with two stripe sections. For those stripe sections you can either pick chevron stripes or wave stripes. I went for the wave stripes.. (We took our photos at Malham in the Yorkshire Dales). I was after a dusky, romantic sort of palette, so my main colour is Hayton 4ply in Compost,...
Turbine
Today we're having a closer look at Turbine, from our Drift Collection. I'm working on my own Turbine, and so many of your have commented on it on social media, so this seems like a good time to mention more about the pattern. It's worked top down, starting with a really cool German twisted cast on (there's a YouTube link in the pattern), which is followed by the yoke with twisted stitches. Anyone with a large bust like me will know how long yoke rows can get, but this hasn't been too bad so far as the pattern has kept...
Featured pattern: Bothel
With yet another grey day outside, I thought I'd talk about another pattern from our cosy Drift Collection. This is Bothel, by the lovely Tracey Todhunter. It's crocheted, but if you're primarily a knitter please don't be put off by that - many of our testers were not really crocheters, and got on fine with this. It looks a bit daunting, but it's really not at all! The fabric that the stitches create is really nice and squishy and cosy - it's just perfect for today. Also, I'd like to point out that as well as a bobble, Tracey included...
Featured FO: Hut 8
Today I thought I'd show you my lovely Hut 8 cardigan. I finished it ages ago (in April), have worn it loads, and finally got these pics when we were in Ireland in June (and it's now November, ahem).. This is pertinent now because Askham 4ply is currently 25% off (I haven't decided how long for yet), and the mild weather means it's still good for 4ply garments! I just liked not having to alternate skeins, which is lazy I know. This colour way is Crocosmia - it goes with a surprising range of other wardrobe staples. ...
