FO Friday: Caramia

With the weather here in Britain finally feeling a bit more wintry, now would seem like a good time to show off an FO from early December which I thought I'd need and haven't really done until now! This lovely Lopi-style sweater is Caramia by Kate Heppell, and featured in Knit Now originally. It's written for a different yarn (Ístex Álafoss Lopi), but as soon as I saw it I thought it'd be lovely in ECY Whitfell Chunky..   ..and it is. It got heavy whilst I was knitting it, and it feels heavy to hold, but once I put it...

Featured pattern: Swale

Swale (by the lovely Karie Westmann) is something you might need today.. On this cold, wet, grey November day, and big cosy shawl around the neck is just the ticket - I'm wearing my Worsted Boxy, but I find it leaves the back of my neck cold so I often wear shawls too. Today, it's the red Swale shown in the photos below. FO: Tailcoat

You can see my Ravelry project page for it HERE if you should fancy having a nosey.        The yarn is Whitfell Chunky in Steel, which is HERE (with an automatic 10% off more than 500g). Actually the pattern is meant to be worked in DK on 6mm needles, but...

Featuring: Embleton

Morning! I thought I'd introduce you to Embleton today, from the Drift collection. Designed by Tracey Todhunter, Embleton is crocheted, and the clever stitches create a fabric that is really smooshy, cuddly, and cosy.  Now, I'm primarily a knitter, but I made the samples in the photos here, and this pattern was super-easy to follow. Once you know what you're doing it's memorable and I didn't need to keep referring back to the pattern. This is a great stashbusting pattern - it's quick, and uses just 100g of DK. I'm intending to make a few for gifts this year. Here are...
