Featured pattern: Swale

Swale (by the lovely Karie Westmann) is something you might need today.. On this cold, wet, grey November day, and big cosy shawl around the neck is just the ticket - I'm wearing my Worsted Boxy, but I find it leaves the back of my neck cold so I often wear shawls too. Today, it's the red Swale shown in the photos below. A handknit hat: Lapsang

Today I thought I'd talk a little about Lapsang; a pattern by Clare Devine, as part of the Tea Party collection. She has also blogged today about the story of this lovely pattern HERE. This is my second Lapsang (Raveled HERE); it took me about four hours to make.. So it's one that you can come back to over and over again. Need a gift for tomorrow? FO: Tailcoat

So this is the main reason for our little soirée around Kirkstall Abbey yesterday: to get some pics of my Isis Tailcoat. It's a Purl Alpaca design - HERE on Ravelry, which I made to wear at a winter (on the Thames) wedding, and a ball the week after.
