Fairisle Friday: Rokeby

Today I thought I'd join in wit Fairisle Friday, with my Rokeby mitts. It's that time of year, after all, don't you think?  These are rally simple - it's just a classic houndstooth pattern, which means you never have to strand across more than three stitches..very convenient.  I did somewhat overcomplicate things by adding in an optional flip top to the pattern though.  You'll need about 25g of each colour for the fingerless mitts, and abut 37g of each colour for the flip tops - although I think my samples here are all either small or medium so allow more...

Featuring: Embleton

Morning! I thought I'd introduce you to Embleton today,from the Drift collection. Designed by Tracey Todhunter, Embleton is crocheted, and the clever stitches create a fabric that is really smooshy, cuddly, and cosy.  Now, I'm primarily a knitter, but I made the samples in the photos here, and this pattern was super-easy to follow. Featuring: Ja Ja

Today I'm doing a little feature on Ja Ja, from our lovely Drift Collection. Ja Ja is a beautiful swing jacket by Åsa Tricosa, which is absolutely nailed by the details involved - there's Åsa's own Ziggurat method which first of all ensures a great fit across the neck and shoulders; there's the tuck on the back, which makes the jacket swing; there's the pockets, which are a good size without adding bulk; there's the double-knitted hemming for the button band, lower hem, and sleeve hems; oh and the sleeve hems are asymmetrical; and there's the super-cool buttonholes (ideal forlarge...
