Project report: Tiny Shoots in Bowland 4ply

Tiny Shoots is a light tee designed by Knit Now editor Kate Heppell back in 2013 - it was originally published in Simply Homemade as I don't think Kate was working for Knit Now at that point! It's now available.. in print from us (although I'd like to update the pattern pics in it now!), and digitally from LoveCrafts HERE.  It originally used my Bowland 4ply, which was previously and rather uninspiringly called BFL Sock. I changed it years ago as I decided I didn't want to recommend it as a sock yarn, as although I know a lot of people...

Looking for knitting pattern inspiration for mohair??

Eldwick Lace is the fluffiest of fluffy yarns, with its silky core and gorgeous halo of soft mohair.. but what to make with it? There are plenty of options as always, but sometimes we need a bit of inspiration, and pointing in the right direction, don't we?! Once you get going you'll want to make ALL the things! Or is that just me?!  With this in mind Ruth McKeon aka Knitterarium's latest shawl pattern release is really striking a chord with me! It's a big semi-circle shawl which has both lace and cosy garter stitch sections, and rather unusually it's made in aran weight yarn. You don't see that many shawls in aran, but when it's properly cold outside...

FFFS! Five reasons to knit this awesome shawl.

FFFS! No not that. This is the Fuss Free Festival Shawl by Louise Tilbrook - if you're in the Everyday Knitter Facebook group you'll have undoubtedly seen posts about this. I've made two, and I know lots of other people have made more than one. So... why? 1. It's super-easy It'd be perfect for beginner knitters, and for more practised folks it's the perfect mindless TV/travel project. I made my first one (HERE on Ravelry) whilst on holiday in Norfolk with a group of ten friends, so I needed something super-easy. As I posted on the Everyday Knitter group at...
