The Thornfield Collection
With British summer now in full swing, it feels like we can just about manage with some lighter knitwear now.. So when it's raining and windy outside but not actually that cold, what better than a light lace beret? The Thornfield Collection comprises three pieces by Jane Burns (of Lazy Sunday Socks fame - blogged HERE), featuring the most beautiful combination of lace, cables, and optional sparkly beads. The gorgeousness of Askham 4ply (baby alpaca/silk blend) lends itself so well. I'm sure many of you will pick up on the reference - Jane says, "The collection was inspired by my favourite...
New patterns: Minted Collection
Today we're celebrating the release of the Mint Collection by Anna Elliott. Anna is a talented British designer, who I met through Knit Now magazine some years ago, and we've kept in contact ever since. She designed the lovely cosy Nature Collection for us, and we've collaborated on a number of magazine patterns too. Anyway.. mint.. yum.. Each of the three hats is named after a mint, and each one is completely different, which is really cool. They're made in Whitfell DK (100% baby alpaca with 100m per 50g ball), using the colours Ebony and Dogwood, but of course...
New Pattern: Trailing Ivy
Trailing Ivy in Simply Knitting 135 – available to purchase from 19th June 2015 These gorgeous socks are designed by Clare Devine, and feature lovely rich cables. They're worked in DK, which I think is really cool - there aren't enough nice DK sock patterns about, and they work up so quickly and are great to wear. Clare says: "Inspired by the beautiful subtle green tones of Eden Cottage’s colourway Hyssop these socks feature a meandering cable detail that sweeps along the sock. This slightly unusual cable has reverse stocking stitch sections, highlighted by the superb stitch definition of Eden...

Pattern release: Dubonnet
For those who haven't seen it yet, Dubonnet is Thea Colman's latest cardigan release, and it uses ECY Oakworth DK (superwash Polwarth wool). Thea's original sample is shown in colourway Coppice, with the pockets in Falling Leaves. I hadn't had time to schedule in extra dyeing for the release date, so we ran pre-orders on ten batches of Oakworth DK - there is still some yarn available right now HERE. And for US customers, you can pre-order Oakworth DK (or order from their current stock) from Yarn Culture, which I am in the middle of dyeing right now....
