FFFS! Five reasons to knit this awesome shawl.

FFFS! No not that. This is the Fuss Free Festival Shawl by Louise Tilbrook - if you're in the Everyday Knitter Facebook group you'll have undoubtedly seen posts about this. I've made two, and I know lots of other people have made more than one. So... why? 1. Ebb and Flow - a new collection by Anni Howard

Hello! Today I wanted to tell you about something we've mentioned in our newsletter but haven't talked about on here - Anni Howard's latest new collection, Ebb and Flow, a range of knit and crochet designs inspired by the bleak beauty of the  Essex coastline and river estuaries. Eden Cottage Yarns are used in three of the four designs. Here's the whole collection together - you can really see the soft, bleak palette and rich textures, and I think they work beautifully with my yarns - I love bleak landscapes and barely-there colours, and find them incredibly compelling. Drachenfels: a three colour shawl

So... Drachenfels by the lovely Melanie Berg - it's fair to say I'm late to the party on this. But I'm so glad I finally made it. You can see my Ravelry project page (it's linked to the pattern page too) HERE for a start. I found this pattern easy, relaxing, and addictive. Normally, I'm bored of projects by about 70% of the way through (probably because I'm usually sample knitting and need to hurry up), but despite being largely garter stitch this did hold my attention right to the end. And the I-cord bind off is a stroke of genius....
