Riverside Walks shawl - fluff, sparkle and lace!
Riverside Walks was a shawl pattern that was over a year in the making - my initial sample was made in Spring 2020. I knew I wanted to get it written up and out for testing but with house renovations going on the notebook it was in got packed away and I couldn't find it for ages afterwards. Once the notebook reappeared Laura and I got to the task of putting it into a template, getting to grips with charting software and getting it to a suitable stage for testing. This stage took so much longer than either of us could have imagined....
The Drift Collection... four years on! We revisit an ECY classic.
Today marks four years since the release of our Drift Collection! Can you believe it?! I know some of you will have been involved in test-knitting for it and will know how big a deal it was for us. I (Victoria) still worked alone at that point, and producing a quite large collection from loads of different designers, whilst still running the business, was a huge challenge. Or is that just me?! With this in mind Ruth McKeon aka Knitterarium's latest shawl pattern release is really striking a chord with me! It's a big semi-circle shawl which has both lace and cosy garter stitch sections, and rather unusually it's made in aran weight yarn. You don't see that many shawls in aran, but when it's properly cold outside...
