Riverside Walks shawl - fluff, sparkle and lace!

Riverside Walks was a shawl pattern that was over a year in the making - my initial sample was made in Spring 2020. I knew I wanted to get it written up and out for testing but with house renovations going on the notebook it was in got packed away and I couldn't find it for ages afterwards. Once the notebook reappeared Laura and I got to the task of putting it into a template, getting to grips with charting software and getting it to a suitable stage for testing.  This stage took so much longer than either of us could have imagined....

The Drift Collection... four years on! We revisit an ECY classic.

Today marks four years since the release of our Drift Collection! Can you believe it?! I know some of you will have been involved in test-knitting for it and will know how big a deal it was for us. I (Victoria) still worked alone at that point, and producing a quite large collection from loads of different designers, whilst still running the business, was a huge challenge. A good time to be British

Here in the UK recently we haven't had too much to feel patriotic about. However with the recent birth of the new prince and the upcoming nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle I can't help but feeling a little pride swelling up inside me. I have especially loved the excited reactions of people visiting from abroad to the news of the new arrival. So with this reinvigorated love for our country I started thinking about patterns to express these feelings and off to Ravelry I went! A cosy aran weight knitted shawl: Midnight Sunset

We're very keen on all things cosy right now - winter in the UK seems to shift a bit later every year which is great for us knitters and crocheters who love to bundle up in our handmade pieces. Or is that just me?!  With this in mind Ruth McKeon aka Knitterarium's latest shawl pattern release is really striking a chord with me! It's a big semi-circle shawl which has both lace and cosy garter stitch sections, and rather unusually it's made in aran weight yarn. You don't see that many shawls in aran, but when it's properly cold outside...
