Featuring: Embleton
Morning! I thought I'd introduce you to Embleton today, from the Drift collection. Designed by Tracey Todhunter, Embleton is crocheted, and the clever stitches create a fabric that is really smooshy, cuddly, and cosy. Now, I'm primarily a knitter, but I made the samples in the photos here, and this pattern was super-easy to follow. Once you know what you're doing it's memorable and I didn't need to keep referring back to the pattern. This is a great stashbusting pattern - it's quick, and uses just 100g of DK. I'm intending to make a few for gifts this year. Here are...

Featuring: Beulah
Today, as it gets colder and I dig out all my handknit hats, I thought I'd introduce Beulah by Clare Devine, from our lovely Drift collection. Beulah is a simple and quick knit with the beautiful panel of detail on one side, which not only has simple cables and lace, but also helps shape the body of the hat. Also have you noticed the awesome crown shaping? I really want to put a bobble on my grey version, but had to get photos of it without first, as the crown decreasing is really eye catching. Talking of the grey yarn,...

Featuring: Ja Ja
Today I'm doing a little feature on Ja Ja, from our lovely Drift Collection. Ja Ja is a beautiful swing jacket by Åsa Tricosa, which is absolutely nailed by the details involved - there's Åsa's own Ziggurat method which first of all ensures a great fit across the neck and shoulders; there's the tuck on the back, which makes the jacket swing; there's the pockets, which are a good size without adding bulk; there's the double-knitted hemming for the button band, lower hem, and sleeve hems; oh and the sleeve hems are asymmetrical; and there's the super-cool buttonholes (ideal forlarge...

Featuring: Deco Swirl
Introducing: Deco Swirl. This is one of the lovely cowls from our Drift Colletion; designed by Louise Zass-Bangham, with simple but super-effective stitch patterning. Both sizes sit well against the neck, and I think the pattern has a nice, clean, graphic sort of look. Here are some links for you Pattern page on Ravelry Buy the Ebook on Ravelry Buy the single print pattern Buy the print book Yarn is here And here's the Lookbook (which is basically a book preview) Don't forget we've also got a Driftalong KAL/CAL (#Driftalong) happening over on the ECY Ravelry group, and everyone is...

Featuring: Hardcastle
Today I thought I'd introduce you to the next featured pattern in our lovely Drift Collection. Hardcastle is a pair of cosy cabled fingerless mitts.. they're beautifully detailed, and what I really love is that because the palm of the hands is ribbed, you get a really good-fitting mitt, which will stretch or contract to the size of your hands (although there are different sizes available too. Here's the pattern information Materials Eden Cottage Yarns Whitfell DK (DK, 50g; 100% baby Alpaca; 100m / 109yds per 50g skein) Shade: Lichen; 1 (2) x 50g skein(s) Needles and Accessories One set...
