Brimham DK: Projects and Patterns using our merino/nylon yarn
This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place! Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it. Like its lighter-weight counterpart Brimham DK is a very soft, squishy yarn which has just the right amount of bounce but also a little drape. The...
Reintroducing Bowland DK - British Bluefaced Leicester at its best!
Bowland DK is one of my longest-stocked yarns and has been with me since the very beginning of ECY in 2011! Like the other siblings in the Bowland range, Bowland DK is pure superwash British Bluefaced Leicester (BFL). This wool is quintessentially British and isn't produced on a commercial scale anywhere else, so with a limited supply and ever-high demand it can be pretty costly. However, there's a reason it's always in high demand - it is so soft as well as being lustrous and shiny, and hard wearing too. As with many other types of wool, there are...

Lowther Lace: Patterns and Projects using our alpaca/silk fluffy laceweight yarn
It occurred to us that it might be really useful to have an ECY way to browse patterns and projects made using specific yarns, for inspiration and ideas. It's one of those things where once you think of it it seems blatantly obvious 🙈🤣 Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. Lowther Lace is a sumptuous blend of baby suri alpaca and mulberry silk. The alpaca fibre gives this yarn a wonderful cloud-like fuzzy halo and offers a great alternative to mohair. This yarn is ideal...
