Bowland 4ply: patterns using this classic British Bluefaced Leicester wool yarn

Here's a gallery of patterns which call for Bowland 4ply, they are listed in no particular order.  Bowland 4ply is my quintessential British Bluefaced Leicester sock yarn which I have been dyeing since before ECY was a twinkle in my eye (since about 2008 - I founded ECY in 2011)! It's 100% superwash BFL with 400m to 100g, and it's my most woolly type of yarn.  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. Do you have a pattern calling for Bowland 4ply which you would like me to include in this gallery? Email me at info@edencottageyarns.co.uk with an image and the pattern...

Introducing Bowland Lace: our new BFL laceweight yarn

We are proud of all our yarns, but of course our British wool ones are a particular source of joy. Our Bowland and Milburn yarn ranges have been an intergral part of our offering for years, with Bowland going right back to the beginning of ECY in 2011. Bowland is 100% superwash British Bluefaced Leicester wool; and Milburn is that but with silk blended in - plus it's mill-dyed (also in Yorkshire). I am quite cautious about adding new laceweight yarns to our range as they are not as popular as 4ply/DK yarns (understandably!). However... when a laceweight version of...

If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it.    The first part of this blog post will give you patterns that specifically call for Eldwick Lace and the second part shows you our projects using this yarn....

Introducing: Titus Fingering-weight merino/silk hand dyed yarn

It’s time to introduce our latest new hand dyed yarn! I have been working on this for a few weeks, making sure that it’s as good as it sounded, so here we are!   The new yarn is Titus Fingering. I’m sure many of you will be familiar with my Titus range - I’ve had Titus 4ply for the full ten years that I’ve been in business. Its name harks back to a time before I started taking name inspiration from local places so it sort of doesn’t fit in with the brand any more, but it’s such an...

Bedale 4ply: projects and patterns using our baby yak/silk hand dyed yarn

This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place!  Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it.  Bedale 4ply is equal quantities mulberry silk and baby yak, creating a beautiful and subtle yarn. The silk gives it a gorgeous shine, the yak is really buttery soft and...
