Coniston Fingering: projects and patterns using our sumptuous blend of merino and mohair
This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for Coniston Fingering. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place! Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it. Coniston Fingering is one of our ever-growing collection of singles yarn! It is a blend of beautiful extrafine merino with luxurious superkid mohair (the finest and softest...
Introducing Bowland Lace: our new BFL laceweight yarn
We are proud of all our yarns, but of course our British wool ones are a particular source of joy. Our Bowland and Milburn yarn ranges have been an intergral part of our offering for years, with Bowland going right back to the beginning of ECY in 2011. Bowland is 100% superwash British Bluefaced Leicester wool; and Milburn is that but with silk blended in - plus it's mill-dyed (also in Yorkshire). Like its lighter-weight counterpart Brimham DK is a very soft, squishy yarn which has just the right amount of bounce but also a little drape. The...
Reintroducing Bowland DK - British Bluefaced Leicester at its best!
Bowland DK is one of my longest-stocked yarns and has been with me since the very beginning of ECY in 2011! This wool is quintessentially British and isn't produced on a commercial scale anywhere else, so with a limited supply and ever-high demand it can be pretty costly. However, there's a reason it's always in high demand - it is so soft as well as being lustrous and shiny, and hard wearing too. As with many other types of wool, there are...

Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. Bowland Aran is ideal for such a wide range...
