Eldwick Lace: projects and patterns using our mohair/silk fluff yarn
This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. It's so handy to have all this in one place! Just FYI - there are no links to Ravelry here. We've linked to patterns and projects that are available to purchase/view elsewhere. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it.  The first part of this blog post will give you patterns that specifically call for Eldwick Lace and the second part shows you our projects using this yarn....

Introducing: Titus Fingering-weight merino/silk hand dyed yarn
It’s time to introduce our latest new hand dyed yarn! I have been working on this for a few weeks, making sure that it’s as good as it sounded, so here we are!  The new yarn is Titus Fingering. I’m sure many of you will be familiar with my Titus range - I’ve had Titus 4ply for the full ten years that I’ve been in business. Its name harks back to a time before I started taking name inspiration from local places so it sort of doesn’t fit in with the brand any more, but it’s such an...
Askham Aran: projects and patterns using alpaca/silk yarn
This blog post is designed as a useful resource for inspiration for a specific yarn. There are projects that use it, and patterns that call for it. If they're only available on Ravelry we will say that, but not link to it. Askham Aran is soft, dreamy yarn that is such a joy to work with and wear - it creates a warm, fluffy, and drapey fabric which can feel...

Introducing: the need for tweed, with Keswick Fingering and Keswick DK yarns
Introducing… the need for tweed!  At this point you may have already heard of two of our new (for 2020) yarns - Keswick Fingering, and Keswick DK. They debuted in June and I did a Shedcast episode about them, so this blog post is to go with that. It’s not a direct transcript because I find that typed up blog posts work better following their own narrative, but I will make sure I cover everything that I covered in the video in case you cannot watch it. Firstly, let me tell you exactly what it is - it’s 85%...

Introducing Dusk - the latest shade in the Milburn palette đź’ś
So... we have a beautiful new Milburn colourway!! We have been planning and working on replacing four colours for quite a while now - at least 12 months I think; possibly more (I've lost track). We have now done three! First to sell out was Dogwood which was replaced with Crocosmia, as this seemed like a close-ish swap. Crocosmia was a tried and tested colour that proved popular on the mill dyed Askham 4ply and as a hand dyed colourway. Plus I love orange and there wasn't an orange on the palette so this felt like a no-brainer. Autumn Fields DK...
